    Ruth Brooks

    Programme Leader, School of Art & Design

    Ruth Brooks is a highly personable workplace innovator with extensive experience of the creative public sector (including central government experience) and of charity environments. Her talents lie in facilitation, analytical business improvement, strong communication and partnership building.

    After having achieved success in helping existing organisations with business improvement as an employee Ruth became a business owner in August 2015, taking over operational control of a private Art school in London. Since taking over she has overseen an increase in both turnover and profit in her first two years at the helm as well as overseeing an enormous increase in high level passes for our qualifications. Ruth is also a programme leader of the School of Art & Design overseen all the art school at DGHE.

    Patricia Mulligan

    Lecturer - Graphic Design
    Patricia Mulligan is a Painting & Drawing tutor and also our Head of Art Foundation. She has a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University, having earlier gained an MA in General Arts at Edinburgh University (specialising in art history & anthropology), and a Masters in 3D Design & IT from Birmingham City University (specialising in digital design and animation). She has worked as a set designer and extensively as a digital designer, prior to concentrating on work as a visual artist and lecturer. All of these experiences inform her practice which is rooted in painting, printmaking, animation and writing. She is currently studying furthering her postgraduate studies with Turps Banana, and regularly participates in group shows, currently working a couple of exhibitions for late in 2018.

    Mark Hamilton

    Lecturer - Photography
    Mark Hamilton Gruchy is originally from Jamaica however has spent much of his time living and working in London. After completing a BA in Fine Art, he worked for 10 years as a photorealist producing large commissioned pencil drawings. He has also completed an MA in animation and have since been working in both moving image and stills photography. Mark has a vast experience as a photographer and worked for a wide variety of the UK and international clients. Concurrent to this, Mark teaches photography and moving image in various places including here at our campus. Find out more about his portfolio on www.markhamiltongruchy.com

    Juliet Sugg

    Lecturer - Graphic Design

    Juliet Sugg is a freelance artist, specialising in narrative art and performance. She has been commissioned both commercially and personally for various projects including the #whitechapelgallery#southbankcentre and the #whistablebiennale and she has illustrated a number of graphic novels. Juliet’s work fuses authorial illustration with performance and installation creating ‘live’ graphic novels, which allow the viewer to step inside the narrative. Juliet is currently teaching Graphic design at DGHE.

    Emily Woolley

    Lecturer - Art Practices
    Emily Woolley graduated from the Goldsmiths BA Fine Art with first-class honours. She is a brilliant artist and her work has been included in numerous shows/exhibitions. She is also a co-founder of DIG a non-profit arts initiative dedicated to supporting and hosting experimental practices.     Gal Sapir

    Lecturer - Digital Imaging

    Gal Sapir combines a commercial graphics and web design practice with a long term research interest in image making and printmaking. He has extensive experience within digital media and graphic design with a specialism in branding and web design.

    Lisa Byrne

    Lecturer - Photography

    Lisa Byrne has an MA in Fine Art, specialising in Photography from the Royal College of Art in London graduating in 2007. In 2003 She graduated from the University of Greenwich with a PGCE and have a BA Honours in Fine Art from Middlesex University in 1996. This included an exchange program with Cooper Union where Lisa studied film, photography and painting, in 1995. Lisa has taught since 1997, giving her twenty two years teaching experience delivering to a broad range of learners, from HE and FE to teaching community groups. Concurrent to this, Lisa teaches photography and moving image in various places including here at our campus.
